My mission is to bring animals into people’s hearts, because I strongly believe that we humans only protect what we love. And we only love what we know and who we are emotionally connected with. I see it as my duty to build an emotional bridge from humans to animals which is the foundation for all wildlife conservation to happen.
We need to learn to love them exactly the way they are and not the way we wish them to be. I’m taking you with me into this world full of excitement, fascination, emotions, and crazy moments where you will learn alongside with me how to love, respect, understand and protect the natural world and its beautiful beings.
I am a Swiss guy, who dedicated his entire life to the animal world! Nowadays, I live in South Africa, I am a member of a lion pride, a hyena’s best friend and a daddy of two monkeys. Besides that, I have built a global voice for our planet’s wildlife over the past years.
Born in Switzerland on October 3, 1992, I was blessed to grow up in a loving family with my sister and my parents, who were always very supportive and caring. My mother is originally from the Balkan region, while my dad is a Swiss citizen. I discovered my deep passion for wildlife already at the age of six through the legendary Steve Irwin. He was the one who brought wildlife into my living room in Switzerland and inspired and educated me about all kinds of different animal species.
Even though I was so passionate about animals, I originally followed a very ordinary path to adulthood, ending up in the finance industry as a financial advisor. After a very successful year working in finances, I decided to found my own company, which then, over the next three years, allowed me to generate the financial foundation to launch the Hakuna Mipaka project at the age of 24.
Thanks to the additional financial support of my family I could develop the Hakuna Mipaka Oasis in South Africa and start my mission for two years without having to depend on any income sources. After two years and lots of investments and work I finally launched the Donation Program with the Dean Schneider Foundation which keeps the Oasis nowadays alive.
